A Tribute To Proctor Grad

Ernest Jones

Ernest  was a 3 yr starter at Proctor and was on the first team when the Utica Schools consolidated.  Although the team, then called Utica Senior Academy struggled, Ernest was determined to excell.  Ernest lived in the weightroom and was a defensive force at Strong Safety.  Ernest played for Proctor his Soph yr and graduated from USA in 1989.

Many colleges didn't feel Ernest had Div 1 talent but when Coach Asselta sent film to a friend in Oregon the Ducks gave him a full scholarship.  Ernest ended his career at Oregon as team captain and all-time Sack Leader.  Ernest was Drafted by the Rams in the 3rd Round in 1994.He earned a Super Bowl Ring with the Bronco's and ended his career with the Panthers.  Ernest now lives in Arizona where he is a personal trainer.
